LGBTQIA+ learning guide consultation
People Unlimited is a Social Enterprise working to transform the way the world feels about mental health.
We are planning a new project which will seek to improve the care received by LGBTQIA+ young people when experiencing a mental health crisis. These new resources (video and text) will sit on our Crisis Tools online learning platform – www.crisistools.org.uk.
The focus will be on specific barriers and discrimination faced by LGBTQIA+ young people which may require different approaches from health staff, as indicated by preliminary feedback from young people. This project will support existing training and online resources developed by Healthy Teen Minds to look specifically at the needs of young people who identify as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer or Questioning and other relating identities (LGBTQIA+).
We are inviting professionals to help in the co-design process by getting involved by attending an online consultation workshop at 1pm on the 28th September 2022. To sign-up please register via this link and we will be able to send you a Teams invite to your email address. Please note that places are limited and allocated on a first come first served basis.
During this, we will not ask you to share details of specific experiences but we will be asking about your experience supporting LGBTQIA+ young people with their mental health. If you are unable to attend but would still like to contribute, please let us know so we can arrange for you to still share your views.
As part of this project, you will work alongside LGBTQIA+ young people, with lived experience, to ensure everyone is involved in the co-production process.
If you have any accessibility barriers or hesitation about getting involved that we could support you with, please get in touch.
