On Wednesday 16th February 2022 we ran a recruitment event meet our team, find out more about the Amplify programme and learn how to submit a great application. The event was split into two parts:

Young Advisor Showcase
The first part of the recruitment event introduced our amazing team of Young Advisors and how they fit into Healthy Teen Minds. They will talk through what they have done during their time in the role, the kind of projects they have been involved with and what a general ‘day in the life of’ a Young Advisor has looked like for them.
Welcome to Healthy Teen Minds – 25 minutes
This session introduces the organisation of Healthy Teen Minds, what our values are and how coproduction is a part of everything we do. You will also learn a brief introduction to the amplify programme and how that fits into the rest of the team.
Young Advisor involvement in the We Can Talk project – 15 minutes
This session will introduce our We Can Talk project and how it uses the voice of young people to create change. You will learn how Young Advisors have been involved in the project and give you an insight into how everything works.
Young Advisor involvement in Crisis Tools project – 15 minute
This session will introduce our Crisis Tools project and how it uses the voice of young people to create change. You will learn how Young Advisors have been involved in the project and give you an insight into how everything works.
Life as a Young Advisor – 15 minutes
This session is a general overview of what it’s like to be a Young Advisor, what a day at work might look like and how our Young Advisors are supported.

Supporting you to create a strong application
This part of the recruitment event talked about everything you would need to know to feel confident about submitting a strong application to join the Amplify programme.
What is an advisor? – 20 minutes
This next section will introduce the team who are going to talk about what being a Young Advisor actually means and why the role is so important to Healthy Teen Minds. You will learn about the Amplify development programme, how that fits into the organisation and what this programme could mean for you.
What kind of people are we looking for? – 10 minutes
This session will tell you about the skills and experience that are important to have if you are thinking about becoming a young advisor.
How to write a good application – 45 minutes
This session will cover the steps you should take to write a good application, including It will provide some practical advice on the kinds of experience you already have that can be used during the application and will explain the STAR and PEE approach that will help you to write the best question responses!
Production Team – 20 minutes
This session will cover everything you need to know about joining the production team, who you’ll be working with, what your role will be and the skills you can expect to learn.
Voice Team – 15 minutes
This session will cover everything you need to know about joining the voice team, who you’ll be working with, what your role will be and the skills you can expect to learn.
Delivery Team – 10 minutes
This session will cover everything you need to know about joining the Delivery team, who you’ll be working with, what your role will be and the skills you can expect to learn. At the time we recorded this, we were going to call the ‘Delivery Team’ the ‘Projects Team’, so forgive us if we’re saying something slightly different to what is now written across the website.
